Home Opener of 2016/2017 Ingersoll Atom AE...
On a beautiful manic Monday, Our Tremblett’s YIG Atom AE Express welcomed the Paris Wolfpack into town for the opening game of the 2016-17 regular season.

The game started with the Express pounding in shot after shot at the Paris goalie. But unfortunately were unable to put the puck in the net.

As the period went on, both teams started exchanging scoring chances when Paris took full advantage of an opportunity deep in the Express end grabbing a loose puck and in a mad scramble, scored to make it 0-1.

The middle frame between these 2 teams consisted of stellar goal tending from Chris “The Eagle” Hardeman controlling the tempo on the ice and allowing Ingersoll an opportunity to exert pressure back the other way. The midway mark of the second period found the Express still down by 1 and trying to figure out a way to get the puck in the net wearing out the formerly white pads of the Paris goalie with a continued barrage attempting to tie the game up when “The Pickle” Dylan Lale put his best foot forward and squeezed the puck over the goal line to tie the game up at 1.

The final period started with both teams looking for the go ahead goal when Paris jumped ahead with a shot that just found the inside of the goal post leaving the Express with some work to do to square up the game against a hungry Paris Wolfpack.

With 4:06 left in the game, continued pressure by Ingersoll resulted in a power play opportunity. Despite some great offensive chances, the Express still trailed by 1.

The train wasn't far from leaving the station, when Ingersoll made the call to pull the Eagle and send out the extra attacker to make one last gasp at tying the game.

With the seconds winding down, Ingersoll fired shot after shot towards the net. With the seconds ticking down and everybody in the stands on their feet (11.7 seconds to be exact), The Express swarmed the Paris zone and were all over the Wolfpack net when a rebound from a shot off the point resulted in the Express being rewarded off a goal mouth scramble, when Dylan Lale found the back of the net.

Our Express never gave up and never stopped believing earning a 2-2 tie to get the season underway.  Ingersoll out shot Paris 32-17.

Our Tremblett’s YIG Express will be back on the ice for Saturday morning practice at 7:00am in Ingersoll.
