Caledonia Challenge Cup Tournament Summary
This past Weekend our YIG Trembletts Ingersoll Atom AE Express took the track to head down to Caledonia for the Challenge Cup.

Our Express were in a Pool with a group of Teams which would prove to be a great challenge for our young squad.

The 1st 2  games included the Pelham Panthers and Milton Winterhawks. While the boys did fall short losing both games 1-3 and 1-2 respectively, they were close and hard grinding games  which could have gone either way.

Not to hold their heads down, Ingersoll were bound and determined to come out on the other side of the  scoreboard when they came into Caledonia looking for redemption on Saturday morning when they scheduled to face the Merriton Bulldogs followed by the Ennismore Eagles.

Our YIG Trembletts Atom AE Express jumped right at Puck drop fore-checking ferociously and looking to gain an early lead.  Despite the pressure on the Bulldogs, the 1st period ended with no score. The 2nd period started with both teams battling for control the Express couldn’t be contained no more connecting twice to jump out to a 2-0 lead. The 3rd period had the Express applying continued pressure on Merriton connecting 2 more times and with stellar defense supporting a potent offense helped support a 4-0 win and clean sheet for Ingersoll.

The Express got going in game 2 with added confidence from a great performance in the morning and started where they left off. Bringing the offense from all angles making it difficult for Ennismore to defend and keeping them on their heels. As a result our boys left with a 3-0 win and back to back victories and 2 blank sheets  to finish the tournament.

With 6 teams in the Pool, Our Express finished 3rd just missing qualifying for the semifinals.

It was noted that as the Tournament went on and our boys playing more, getting familiar with one another, the chemistry, the passing and the support of one another  which is such an important part of our game was playing a more and more prominent role.

It’s a long season and the more these boys stick together the more success they shall have.

We should be proud of our Atom AE YIG Trembletts Express and the way they played hard throughout the weekend.

An important building block as we start steaming through the season.
