Atom AE - London Bandits at Ingersoll
Today started the 2016-17 Exhibition Season for our Express Atom AE - Tremblett's YIG Ingersoll taking on the London Bandits.
The game started with both teams looking to get on the board quickly but the goalies for both teams stood tall keeping the game scoreless.
As the 1st period moved along there were good opportunities for both teams but a strong defence prevailed at both ends with each Team unable to break through.
The second period continued much like the 1st and with both sides mired in a defensive battle, the forwards did a great job coming back to support while the Defence stood tall and Christopher “The Eagle” Hardeman was solid between the pipes for our Express. 2 Periods down and still no score!
The third period started with flurry of up and down action with both Teams pressuring to get the lead. The end to end action gave both Teams solid opportunities when The Bandits were able to sneak one in off a scramble in front of the net to make it 0-1.The remaining minutes saw The Express pouring on the pressure but unfortunately unable to tie it up before the final whistle. Their determination was evident as they out shot the Bandits 12 to 9 during the game.
This was the 1st game for our Young stars and it was against a very strong Bandits team. Despite the loss, they should be very proud of the their grit and determination to start the season.
