Express Fall on the Road to Flames
The Ponting Financial Pee Wee REP Express team travelled to Aylmer to face the Flames in the opener of their Southern Counties Playoffs.
After a 0-0 tie after the first frame the Flames jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second period. Down 2-0 after two the Express went the on the Power Play which allowed Seth Hedges (assisted by Tye House & Joel Verspeeten) to cut the deficit in half. Three minutes later Max Branderhorst slid a pass over to Benham Martin who rifled a shot over the goalies blocker to even the score at 2-2. The excitement was short lived however as the two Express goals woke up the Flames hot offense as they pushed two more goals past Express netminder Seth Clark to seal the 4-2 victory. Clark pushed aside 20 of the 24 shots he faced.
