Express Drop Close One To Warriors

The Express faced the Simcoe Warriors a week earlier in Ingersoll and came away with a tough 4-3 loss.  Looking to avenge the last playoff loss the Express travelled to Simcoe.  The Ponting Financial Pee Wee boys after a furious first period gave up a short handed goal that gave the Warriors a 1-0 cushion after the first period.  Early in the second period the Warriors attacked the Express net but Seth Clark kept them at bay with some dazzling athletic saves to keep the contest close.  This gave the Express some confidence as they were able to turn the table and press the Warriors into their own end.  Simcoe was able to return the favor and pushed back with two more quick goals of their own giving them a 3-0 cushion.  Putting together a quick sequence of passes out of their zone Evan Hopson found a streaking Tye House who slid a pass over to Max Branderhorst who made no mistake with it as he buried it top shelf.  Moments later the Express once again pressed the Warriors in their own end Cohen Belore out muscled a Simcoe defender and passed out to the point to Kaleb Kloepfer who fired a shot on net that Brodee Nurse was able to get some lumber on it and deflect it past the Warrior keeper for a 3-2 score.  The Express kept pushing in the final minutes of the game even with on the Power Play and an extra attacker but Simcoe's netminder stood tall to solidify the win for the Warriors.  Seth Clark played a strong game and made 29 saves in the game.
