Ponting Pee Wee’s Destroy the Titans
On Thursday November 19th, your Ingersoll Express Ponting Financial Pee Wee rep hockey team hosted the Tavistock Titans at the old barn on Mutual; otherwise known as the Memorial Centre. These two teams played each other last week at the Mitchell tournament with Tavistock defeating Ingersoll 4-2. The score did not reflect the dominating game the Titans played against Ingersoll. Owen Longlade had scored with: 02 seconds on the clock and the Ingersoll goalie on the bench.

In the rematch, Ingersoll came out of the gate with speed that continued the entire game. Carter Spence received the start and would play two excellent periods without allowing a goal. Seth Clark entered the game to start the third and finished the game.

Play was fairly even until the latter stage of the opening period. With three and a half left in the period, Tye House broke in alone for a shot before depositing his own rebound past the Tavistock net minder. Less than a minute later, Aiden Brown one-timed a pass from Brody Nurse that gave Ingersoll a 2-0 cushion.

Midway through the second, Brown fed Owen Longlade a short pass down low and Longlade sent a shot to the net that found a hole. Cohen Belore gave Ingersoll a 4-0 lead with just over two to play in the second. Max Branderhorst had found Belore all alone in the slot and the tenacious winger made no mistake.

One minute into the final frame, Longlade was set-up in front of the Tavistock goal, made an excellent dangle and backhanded the puck in the net for a 5-0 Ingersoll advantage. Tavistock broke the shutout bid two minutes later on a rare opportunity. A special mention goes out to the Ingersoll defence who played one of their best games to date this season. Brayden Wright took a shot to the lower body, but continued to battle while noticeably in some pain late in the third.

Other News: Next game for the team is November 24th in Delhi versus the Rockets. Ingersoll will host the Hagersville Hawks next hockey night in Ingersoll; November 26th at the Memorial Centre.
