Unifor Local 88 Midget Rep Boys Earn a Point vs St. George
After a tough 9-3 loss to Ayr at home on Oct. 11th the Unifor Local 88 Midget Rep boys were back on the road Oct. 15th looking to get back into the Win column against an undefeated St. George Midget boys team.

The game was well balanced with some big hits coming from both teams, and not surprisingly the battle seemed to take place on the boards most of the night where the Unifor Local 88 boys stood tall and strong and kept battling a good skating St. George team.  Ingersoll took the lead at the end of the first period when the Couse brothers hooked up as Joel throws a long pass up the middle to Jeff where he would use his strength and speed to hold off the defender to score, 1-0 Ingersoll.

The second period was back and forth until the last minute when St. George capitalizes on a turnover behind the net and the game heads to the third period in a 1-1 tie.

With 5 minutes left in the game St. George put on the pressure by driving hard to the net where Unifor Local 88’s goaltender Haagsma stood strong on the first shot, but couldn’t stop the bodies from filling the net where the puck followed shortly after making it 2-1 for St. George.  With the St. George crowd still cheering and talking about their go ahead goal, a minute later Ingersoll not giving up kept at it with Mayo scoring from the blue line to once again even the score 2 goals apiece.

The game ended in a 2-2 tie giving both teams a point in the tight standings thus far.  This weekend the Unifor Local 88 Midget Rep Boys head to Six Nations on Oct. 19th for their next game.
