Oct 9th – The Unifor Local 88 midget rep boys
made their way down to Waterford on Thursday night to meet the Wildcats for
what would start out as a physical affair.
Once the Ingersoll boys got their legs under them they turned on the
speed and didn’t look back. At the end
of the first period Dunn throws a beauty pass from behind the net to Jeff Couse
out front to open the scoring 1-0 for Ingersoll.
On to the second period where Malchesky comes in to relieve Haagsma in net, and is tested right away making a goal line save that everyone in the stands thought was the equalizer. With the crowd still buzzing about the save, Ingersoll gets the puck deep where Graham uses his size and hands to control the play behind the net and makes a pass to Lindsay out front where he puts it top shelf 2-0 Ingersoll. Ingersoll now in full control, win a face-off in the offensive zone and Goyette at the top of the circle with a snap of the wrist put Ingersoll up 3-0.
Off to the third period, where Ingersoll held Waterford deep in their end for most of the period. Lednicky with 4 minutes left holds the puck and takes a hit but gets the pass off in time for Gedies to score the 4th and final goal of the game. Ingersoll wins 4-0!!
Great team game and great team win!!
