Waterford to Burford – Two Great Travel Games
Thursday, October 24th, Thamesford pizza travelled to Waterford to meet the local Bantam team for the first time this season.

The game was hard fought, with emotion bubbling to the surface at both ends of the Waterford pond.  Waterford would take the win, however, with Ingersoll's Thamesford pizza struggling to get on the board.  In the end, Thamesford pizza left the ice with their heads held high, knowing they'll meet Waterford another day.  The final score had Waterford on top with 3, while Thamesford pizza remained without a goal.

Perhaps it was the learning experiences garnered from their previous games to this point – perhaps it was the words of wisdom imparted by the coaching staff; either way, when Thamesford Pizza travelled to Burford on Saturday October 26th, for their third game of the week, they brought team play and excellence with them, leaving Burford a bit dizzied.

Matt Debruyn and Nolan Costa – two AP players - rounded out Ingersoll's Thamesford Pizza Bantam team in Burford.  And what a team – providing a great show against the backdrop of Burford's skilled, heavy-hitters..

Craig Wild opened the scoring with the first goal of the game assisted by Tyler Debruyn.  Later, as Wild rushed the Burford net in a breakaway – Burford's #5 on his blades – Wild was knocked down and slid hard into the boards behind the Burford net.  This granted him a penalty shot, which he executed with confidence.  The Burford goalie, however, would have none of it, and he denied the penalty shot.  This did not stop Wild, however, nor did it slow down Thamesford Pizza in the slightest as the team came back to indeed drive that puck into the Burford net soon after, in regular play: Wild, assisted by Matt Debruyn, would get his second goal of the game.

The final period of the game had the Thamesford Pizza Bantam team continuing their attack on Burford.  Three more goals would be scored with finesse as Wild provided assistance to Austin George who put the puck to bed twice. Jake Branderhorst would also work his magic after receiving a solid pass from Kristopher Procter.  Branderhorst beat the Burford skaters and their goalie, to ruffle the back of the Burford net.

The final buzzer of this incredible match-up left Burford with 1, and Ingersoll's Thamesford Pizza with 5.  A display by Thamesford Pizza punctuated with solid offence, strong defence, and outstanding goal-tending by Connor Young-Craig!

GO TEAM!
