Thamesford Pizza's Empty Net Magic
Tillsonburg came to Ingersoll, January 28, to face off against Thamesford Pizza with an open net.

Thamesford Pizza started the game with six skaters on the ice and no goalie for about the first two minutes of play.  In spite of this, Craig Wild received an assist from Austin George to put the puck past the Tillsonburg goalie and open scoring in the first 48 seconds of the game. Shortly thereafter, Meghan Longlade stepped onto the ice and took up her position between the pipes of Thamesford Pizza's net.

Period two saw Tillsonburg manage a handful of goals amidst a goal-tending change as Longlade switched off with Connor Young-Craig who took up his usual position within the Thamesford Pizza goal crease.  Thamesford Pizza continued their offensive as Kristopher Procter parked himself in front of the Tillsonburg goalie and Hayden Homewood fed him the puck.  Procter punched that puck into the back of Tillsonburg's net.

The clock continued its relentless countdown and there just wasn't enough time for Ingersoll to tie up the game.  In the end, Tillsonburg would take home a win, with a score of five to two.

This nail-biter of a game was the only game played that week by Thamesford Pizza.  Their season continues, however, and this writer eagerly awaits the chance to report the the exciting highlights of further games!
