Delhi #1 takes the First One
Atom Local League Team Tirecraft faced Delhi #1 in the first game of their series, Monday January 27th at the Ingersoll arena.
Things started off well in the first period. Thirty seconds in, defenseman #3 C. White slipped the puck to #10 E. Robinson who passed over to #15 B. Wright to score. What a nice way to start off a game! Delhi #1 stepped up their game to the next level and kept Ingersoll on a tight leash. Delhi scored with four minutes left in the first period. One minute later, Delhi received a two minute penalty for having too many players on the ice. Team Tirecraft made a valiant effort to even the game up, but Delhi did a great job wasting the penalty minutes.
The rest of the game went by quickly for the fans. Halfway through the second period, Ingersoll acquired a two minute interference penalty. Delhi took advantage and scored. Although Team Tirecraft tried to even the score up, there was no such luck. They had many attempts during the remainder of the game, but the Delhi goalie was always on the puck. Final score of the game 2-1.
Tough one Team Tirecraft, but you will get your chance to even things up the next time you play Delhi #1.

Mr. Sharpe has been a goaltender for four years now. When asked why he chose to be a goalie, his reply was "I get to be on the ice longer."
