Atom L.L. Team Tirecraft defeats Langton Leafs 3-0
Team Tirecraft caught Olympic fever when they faced the Langton Leafs Sunday February 23. Just like Team Canada, they had a 3-0 victory in their semi finals game.

#30 L. Bromley started off the game with many great saves. There were many scoring opportunities for Team Tirecraft. Langton worked hard to kill a two minute hooking penalty halfway through the first period. Both teams spent the period sizing up their opponent. The first period ended scoreless.

Team Tirecraft came out of their end ready to score. Thirty seconds in, #9 G. Cornelisse shot the puck into the net assisted by defenseman #3 "Hammer" White and # 14 C. Clifford. Two minutes later, the referees called a body checking penalty on Langton. Team Tirecraft took advantage with #7 T. Vervaecke scoring top shelf assisted by #12 B. Martin and #14 C. Clifford. #1 D. Sharpe took over in net for Team Tirecraft. Halfway through the second period, Ingersoll received a tripping penalty. Team Tirecraft wasted the clock to kill the two minute penalty. Second period ended 2-0 for Ingersoll.

The excitement continued into the third period. Goaltender, D. Sharpe worked hard at keeping the puck out of his net.  Langton received a body checking penalty. With the one man advantage, #15 B. Wright scored assisted by #10 E. Robinson. Team Tirecraft continued to control the game. Final score 3-0 for Ingersoll; second shutout in a row for #30 L. Bromley and #1 D. Sharpe!

Centreman #18 E. Martire has been playing hockey for four years now. Interestingly enough, his nickname is "Wheels" due to his speed in skating and running. His favourite hockey team is the Toronto Maple Leafs, but his player of choice is Alexander Ovechkin.
