Friday Night Tie for Team Butterworths Novice L.L.
The arena was buzzing with excitement as Team Butterworths faced Norwich in the first game of the A Division qualifying playoff series on Friday January 10.
The first period was filled with action. Both Norwich and Ingersoll skated hard. Back and forth. Back and forth. Five minutes into the period, Norwich skated by the Ingersoll defense and scored the first goal. With determined effort, Team Butterworths used their passing power to even the game up. #20 N. Pike passed the puck to #11 A. Lahey who slid it over to #16 E. Cuthbert to score. The first period ended 1-1.
Time flew by during the second period as both teams worked hard to get the upper hand. Team Butterworths did an amazing job playing positional hockey. The second period remained tied 1-1.
Its the third period. The fans were sitting on the edge of their seats. Neither team was giving up. With five minutes left in the period, E. Cuthbert #16 carried the puck into the Norwich zone and scored. Team Butterworths now in the lead 2-1. Norwich regrouped and brought on the heat. Twenty five seconds left in the period, Norwich scored. Final score 2-2.
What an exciting game!
