A Week of Hockey in Review for Novice L.L. Team Butterworths
It was a crazy busy week of hockey for Novice L.L. Team Butterworths where they played five games in seven days. We lost, we tied and we won in our semi final games.
Monday February 24th, Team Butterworths was on the road to Tillsonburg. It was a great start to the week of hockey with a 3-1 win for Ingersoll. #16 E. Cuthbert scored a hat trick & #11 A. Lahey an assist on the final goal of the Tillsonburg game.
Tuesday, February 25th, we were on the road to Simcoe for a schedule six pm game that was pushed back to seven pm. It was a great opportunity for the Team Butterworths players to play together as friends off the ice. That being said, the game finished 7-6 with Simcoe taking the win. Special mention to #16 E. Cuthbert who scored 4 goals and an assist, #17 A. Georgiou who scored a goal and an assist, #10 C. Hardeman who scored a goal and two assists. Both Ingersoll defencemen #19 B. Plaquet and #5 C. Groves assisted on two goals each. It was a great game with lots of effort from all the players.
Game number three was played at home in Ingersoll on Friday February 28th against Delhi. It was a great game where Team Butterworths had a 3-1 lead with heading into the third period. Delhi tied the game up with two minutes to spare. The Ingersoll goals were scored by #20 N. Pike, #17 A. Georgiou (wow he is on fire), and #16 E. Cuthbert. The assists for Team Butterworths were defenceman #19 B. Plaquet, #20 N. Pike and #10 C. Hardeman. The final score of game three 3-3....coincidence?
Team Butterworths hit the highway to play Delhi on Saturday March 1st. Team Butterworths took a 2-1 win with #12 J. Kloepfer scoring assisted by #16 E. Cuthbert and #10 C. Hardeman (he has come out of his scoring and assisting shell!!) The second goal was scored by #20 N. Pike and assisted by #4 C. Holland.
The final game of our semi final series took us to Norwich Sunday March 2nd. #16 E. Cuthbert scored the first and the second period. Surprise surprise #10 C. Hardeman scored a hat trick in this amazing game. Final score was Team Butterworths 5, Norwich 3.
As a parent, I have never been happier to see a week of hockey end with such a great finish!!
