Carmeuse Lime Midget A/E Southern County Action
Southern County Playoffs have seen the Midget A/E's playing Caledonia, Tavistock, Twin Centre, and Tillsonburg.

Game Summary – Ingersoll vs. Caledonia 2 – February 21st

 

Caledonia came to play with 2 early shots on Jesse Wilson, both saved. The Express had a 4-minute man advantage one minute into the game but no luck finding the back of the net. A short handed one-timer from the point by Garrett Maier gets Ingersoll on the board in the first period. 

 

There was great pressure by Ingersoll, and the team is up by 2 courtesy of Nick Medica (Joel Hall, Austin Webber).  Caledonia answered back with a bad angled shot.  Right back into it, Joel Couse (Austin Webber, Will Trudgen) got a rebound and the Express leads by 2.

 

An Ingersoll defenseman received a retaliatory penalty for defending our goalie and Schneider serves a TMM penalty which gave the Thunder a clear window to score and bring the game within their reach by one goal. The Express battled hard and were awarded a suspect goal.  Back and forth action all game as our opponents quickly scored and it’s now 4 3 Ingersoll to finish out the 2nd period.

 

Two goals by the Express in the 3rd period: An unassisted goal by Austin Webber from the point and another by Ryan Allard (Medica, Foster).  The game final is a 5-5 tie.

 

 

Game Summary – Tillsonburg visits Ingersoll – March 7th

 

Ingersoll scored twice in the 1st period – Garrett Maier (Jeff Couse) and NickRizzo (Austin Webber). The Tornadoes scored a single.

 

The  2nd period seen one goal for each team. Ingersoll’s Ryan Allard had help from his D -  Jordan Pacheco and Austin Webber.  Lots of traffic to the sin bin for Tillsonburg this period and tempers flowed over to the 3rd by both teams.

 

Ingersoll scored the only goal in the 3rd - Solo by Nick Rizzo. Ingersoll takes the game 4 – 2.

 

 

Game Summary – Tavistock at Ingersoll – March 10th

 

The first period seen back and forth action but no score to report. The Express defense pairings were playing well all game.  Penalties hounded both teams for the entire 2nd period with a total of 10 calls made. No scoring but plenty of back and forth action all period.  Four minutes into the 3rd period, Tavi squeaks one by Malchesky.  Another slow moving piece of rubber inched over the Ingersoll goal line, and the Titans take a commanding 2 goal lead.  Game final Tavistock 2 Ingersoll 0.

 

Game Summary – Ingersoll heads to Tavistock – March 12th

 

Tavistock was on fire with 2 goals in their first 3 shots of the game.  With less than a minute remaining in the first period, the Titans score again.  Shots for the period were Tavistock 11 and Ingersoll 8. 

 

Ingersoll starts the 2nd period with a man advantage. It was a strong start to the period for the Express with good passing but didn’t capitalize.  Ingersoll is on the board with an even strength goal by Nick Rizzo (G Maier) three minutes into the period. The crowd witnessed hard shots from the point, and the D were working hard to keep the puck in.  Jeff Couse (Jesse Wilson) scored a dangler to bring the score within one. 

 

The Titans are still ahead 3-2 going into the 3rd.  Tavistock scored well into a 4-minute power play to take a 2-goal lead over the Express.  But Ingersoll’s Nick Medica, with help from Adam Dyzngel answered back 30 seconds later.  Ingersoll tied up the game with a Jeff Couse (G Maier) goal with 1 minute left on the clock.  Exciting game ends in a 4-all tie.

 

The team is waiting patiently to see if they advance to the S.C. finals.  Good Luck Team.
