A See-Saw Battle
Looking to improve on their record of 7-9-4, the Carmeuse Lime Midget AE’s were itching to take on the visiting Stars who won the Silver Stick Qualifier Tournament the weekend before.

With a couple players serving suspensions, the team was happy to welcome back Nick Medica to their line up.  The Twin Centre Stars were aggressive from the get go and would get on the board within the first 60 seconds.  The Express come out hitting hard and continued to play physical throughout. A team effort to kill off a tripping penalty paid off and Allard (Medica, Graham) scored at close range shorthanded.  Joel Couse was on a roll to score 2 goals in the same shift with help from Rizzo and Maier.  Ingersoll was up 3 1 after 1.  The Stars were out-muscling Ingersoll and quickly jammed home 2 goals to tie up the game within the first 4 minutes of the 2nd period.  At the halfway point, Rizzo (unassisted) sent one top shelf. The Express found themselves in some penalty trouble but came away unscathed.  Jesse Wilson made several great gloves saves. Rizzo scored another roofer with tape to tape passing from Maier and Joel Couse.   A goalmouth scramble allowed Trudgen (Pacheco) to sneak one by the “Brick”.  The opposition scored on a breakaway to come within 1 after 2 periods of play.  The Stars had the momentum and kept rolling, as they would score 2 more beauty goals at the 10-minute mark.  Ingersoll wasn’t about to give up. They battled hard, hit hard, and went to the net hard.  Ultimately, the Stars won the see-saw battle 7 6.  The rivalry continues next Thursday (Dec 20) when Twin Centre returns again to Ingersoll. Game time is 9:15 p.m.
