It's always a close one when these two teams meet. Thursday night was no exception as Ingersoll's Ryan Allard scored (Foster, Dyzngel) five hole midway through the first period.

Tillsonburg answered back less than 2 minutes later to tie it up. The Tornadoes' aggressive pressure seen them get one past Lucas Malchesky five hole late in the first period. Tillsonburg's powerplay seen Ingersoll struggling to clear their zone. Tillsonburg's HC penalty seen an opportunity for Ingersoll, and the boys battled with hardshots from the point but to no avail.

With 6 minutes to finish off the 2nd period, Matt Foster tore in and passed over to Rizzo using a smooth backhand to tie it up. Ingersoll's powerplay was cut short with a HC call. A much needed goal for the Express was called off by the refs, and the fans went into a frenzy.

Another Ingersoll rush found Nick Medica awkwardly do a twirling headstand into the boards. With assistance, he left the ice and the team hopes for his speed recovery and return to the team.

With determination, the Express rushed down the rutted ice and Foster (Pacheco) slipped a shorthanded goal past the Thunder's netminder. The momentum of goal scoring seemed to ignite the great passes and pressure witnessed in the 3rd period.

A slippery goal by Jeff Couse (Allard) allowed the Express to keep rolling onto a 4 2 lead. Shortly after a scrum, Ingersoll found themselves shorthanded, and the Thunder capitalized to bring the game within their reach.

With under 2 minutes remaining in the game, the D pushed up the puck but the Express couldn't find the back of the net. If it wasn't exciting enough, Tillsonburg pulled their goalie. A puck squeaked through Lukey's five hole, but Schneider managed to keep the puck on the right side of the goal line.

Game goes to Ingersoll 4 / 3.
