Your Ingersoll Canadian Tire Atom LL hockey team continues to push for a top four spot to qualify for the A-division playoffs. The schedule is busy for these young stars who believe they can achieve their goal of playoff hockey this season.
On Feb. 17th, the Canadian Tire Atoms hosted the
first place Langton Leafs. Ingersoll is
the only team to have success against Langton this season and this night would
be no different. The teams skated to a
scoreless first period. Ingersoll goalie
Megan Longlade was solid between the pipes making several big saves. With three minutes left in the second period,
Ethan Vlemmix got open and fired a shot over the Langton net minder. Assisting on the goal were Kennedy Costa and
Owen Longlade. Will Jones and Devon Dell
both carried the puck well and created chances throughout the game. Early in the third, Owen Longlade went end to
end, firing a wrist shot to the back of the net. Assisting on the goal were Vlemmix and Marisa
Freeman. Langton would reply a minute
later to make the score 2-1. Canadian
Tire put up the defensive wall the rest of the way to secure the win. Luke White was solid on defence along with
Colin VanDyk.
On Feb. 15th, Canadian Tire hosted Simcoe #2 at
the Memorial Center. Ingersoll could not
generate any offence while surrendering four goals against. Final score Simcoe 4, Ingersoll 0.
On Feb. 10th, Ingersoll Canadian Tire Atoms
played two games, one in Tillsonburg and one at home against Simcoe #1. In Tillsonburg, Canadian Tire opened the
scoring when Marisa Freeman ripped a wrist shot from the blue line that eluded the
Tillsonburg goalie. Lucas White and
Conner Kuhlman earned assists. Tillsonburg
would tie the game before the end of the first.
After a scoreless second and less than five minutes remaining, Ethan
Vlemmix scored the eventual winner assisted by Shelby Todd and Cam Dench. Owen Longlade won a faceoff with time ticking
down to Vlemmix who buried his second of the game. Megan Longlade played a great game in net for
Canadian Tire. Final score Ingersoll 3,
Tillsonburg 1. Back in Ingersoll, the
team hosted Simcoe #1 for an evening game.
Simcoe scored first with less than a minute left in the first
period. The game remained 1-0 Simcoe

goal. Final score Ingersoll 1, Simcoe 1.
On Feb. 9th, Canadian Tire hosted the Thamesford
Attack for the Carmeuse Invitational.
The Attack played just like their moniker, aggressive and positional
hockey. Thamesford would skate to a 3-2
victory in this exhibition game. Bryce
Egan, Cole Tanti and Griffin Smith each scored for the Attack. Replying for Ingersoll were Will Jones and
Cam Dench. Shaun Holt, Jones and Dench
