Canadian Tire Defeats Simcoe 2-1
Canadian Tire Ingersoll Atom-LL Keep On Playing Great Hockey!

Defeat Simcoe 2-1
Canadian Tire Ingersoll Atom-LL hosted Simcoe on Sunday night and came away with another hard won victory.

From the opening puck drop Ingersoll Canadian Tire once again proved that they have one of the strongest defense in the league.

The defense led the way keeping the opposition to the outside and showing some fine positional play.

All year the whole team has been playing great defense always coming back hard and picking up their assignments.

Ethan Vlemmix opened the scoring with a nice rush up ice and hammered it home to give Ingersoll the lead.

Lucas White had another fine game for Ingersoll Canadian Tire Atom-LL seeming to always be in the right spot to clear the puck out of harm’s way when Simcoe had the pressure on.

Simcoe got one of their few chances and managed to put one by Megan Longlade along the ice. Megan Longlade shut the door after that not allowing any more chances with her defense keeping Simcoe to the outside and clearing the puck at any opportunity.

Second period action saw Ingersoll’s Shelby Todd feed a nice pass to Ethan Vlemmix who streaked down the center of the rink and put a nice move on the defense before threading the puck through the five hole of the Simcoe goalie. To put Ingersoll up by one heading into the third.

During the third period Ingersoll’s Shaun Holt who has played great all year was steady once again battling for loose pucks and clearing the puck decisively when needed.  Ingersoll’s Kennedy Costa also had another solid game winning many tough puck battles along the boards.
In the end Ingersoll Canadian Tire managed to hold off Simcoe’s extra attacker and even had a few good shots at the empty net. Well done everyone!
