Battle of Highway 19 Ends In A Tie
Battle of Highway 19 Ends In A TieThe Searles Motor Products Novice REP team travelled down highway 19 to face the Tillsonburg Tornadoes. Tillsonburg jumped out to a early 1-0 lead in the game when a miscue occurred in front of the net that allowed Tillsonburg to jump on a loose puck. Moments later the Tornadoes fired another goal in between the pipes to give them a 2-0 lead. Ingersoll was able to cut the lead in half when Davin Gray (assisted by Tye House) pounced on a rebound, then again was able to tie the score up at 2-2 (assists from Ethan Capern and Alex Schuett). Tillsonburg managed to gain control of the momentum and the scoreboard near the end of the second period when they fired a blast past Express goalie Carter Spence to take the 3-2 lead. Ingersoll centre Gray potted his third goal of the game when he took a nice feed from Alex Schuett and Kaleb Kloepfer to even the score out at 3-3 where it stayed til the final buzzer.
Ingersoll will host Burford on Thursday 6:00pm in Southern Counties playoff action before returning their attention to their Semi Finals OMHA series against Simcoe on Saturday at 5:00pm.
