Express Hold Off Late Rally to Win Game One Of OMHA Finals
Saturday night the Ingersoll Express Searles Motor Products held off a late rally by the Lambeth Lancers to take Game 1 of the OMHA "B" Finals. Alex Schuett (Davin Gray, Ethan Capern) opened the scoring with a breakaway goal. Gavin Bryant followed up with an unassisted marker in the second period. Davin Gray (Schuett. Wyatt Adkins) potted the next two goals to give Ingersoll a 4-1 lead going into the third. It was a strong third period effort by the Lancers who cut into the lead to trail 4-3. Lambton had one final chance with under two minutes when they missed a clear scoring opportunity in the slot and missed the net, then Gray scooped up the puck moments later to score the empty netter and the 5-3 win. Both Carter Spence and Dominic Kingsbury did a fantastic job making some key stops.
Game 2 is Sunday night March 17th at 7:00pm in Ingersoll.
