Verspeeten Cartage Parties Down Simcoe Peewees
Submitted By KProcter on Sunday, January 27, 2013
Within the first two minutes of Verspeeten’s home game against Simcoe Peewees on January 21, the score was Verspeeten 2, Simcoe 0. And so began this scoring fiesta!

Verspeeten, however, was not celebrating this fiesta alone, as Simcoe would not stay off the score board for long, answering back many Verspeeten goals with goals of their own. Brodi Carbaugh’s goal-tending held back the Simcoe revelers while Verspeeten continued to build a reassuring lead.

The adrenalin junkies of the Verspeeten Cartage Peewees would not relent, and they continued their scoring frenzy to the point of a curfew when the Zamboni called the game.

Nolan Costa took two goals with an assist from Ethan Vlemmix. Vlemmix and Matthew Debruyn also worked together to assist Kristopher Procter who poked the puck past the Simcoe goalie. Jacob Branderhorst was assisted by Jack Van Egdom, Hailey Wright and Costa as Branderhorst managed a hat-trick. With the assistance of Branderhorst, Paul Shearer put home the last puck in this banquet of goals.

The final score: Verspeeten Cartage 7, and Simcoe 5. Verspeeten has a busy schedule, the last week of January, with a continuation of so much excitement.

Let’s Go Verspeeten!
