Norwich Peewees Challenge Verspeeten Cartage
Norwich Peewees visited Verspeeten Cartage’s home ice in Ingersoll, on November 5th, for a great match-up!

Norwich opened up scoring by somehow beating Verspeeten’s Brody Carbaugh who was virtually break-dancing in net, and pulled out some amazing saves! Brody’s team mates did not let their goalie down, and while short-handed - with a four-minute penalty on the clock - Verspeeten put one past the Norwich goalie to even the score.

The excitement continued with both teams carrying the puck end to end. Even with eight minutes of power play against Verspeeten Cartage, Norwich couldn’t manage a go-ahead goal. The last 26 seconds of the game featured a power play for Verspeeten who themselves relented and the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

Goals for Verspeeten were scored by Paul Shearer, with assistance by Graydon Macdonald. Second goal was put past Norwich’s goalie by Jacob Branderhorst, who was assisted by Ethan Vlemmix.

Verspeeten Cartage will play their next regular season game on home ice against Waterford, on November 12th. Prior to this date, however, the team will be facing many other teams during a tournament in Ayr, November 9th to November 11th. Come on out and support this great hockey team for all of their games!
