Tirecraft Atom LL Team Enjoying Success

Your hometown Tirecraft Atom LL hockey team continues to enjoy success after a busy weekend of action. Full credit to the players for their hard work and determination. The late addition of goaltender Megan Longlade has solidified that position and allowed coach Paul Jones and his staff to create stable forward lines and defensive pairings. The team is 3-1-2 since Longlade's arrival are getting better each game.

On Saturday December 10, the team travelled to Waterford defeating the Wildcats 3-2. David Timleck scored two minutes into the game assisted by Colin Van Dyk. The second period was back and forth action that saw goalie Megan Longlade and her counterpart make several saves. With ten seconds left on the clock, defenceman Symon Hutcheson took off from his own end, skated through the Waterford team and scored at the buzzer to end the second. Waterford would score two minutes into the second to set up a wild finish. With thirteen seconds left Brent Fewster redirects a hard pass from Symon Hutcheson to win the game. Shaun Holt drew an assist on the play.

On Friday December 9, the team hosted Delhi in a truly entertaining gem of a game. Ethan Laporte opened the scoring in the first with a determined effort assisted by Will Jones and Brandon Gordon. Camden McDougall would score to start the second period assisted by Collin Dench and Devon Dell. Delhi would tie things up with a pair before Camden McDougall would regain the lead assisted by Ryan Bruschetto and Shaun Holt. Again, Delhi tied the score setting up the heroics of Camden McDougall with a great individual effort scoring with thirty seconds left for the hat trick and game winner.
