Tirecraft In Simcoe and At Home
Tirecraft Atoms played two games this week – against Simcoe and Burford.  As usual, the Tirecraft team played two great games with spirit and skill.  They did not disappoint!

The first game was against Simcoe, on November 25, where the Simcoe team had home-ice advantage.  Simcoe had even more advantage than home-ice however, as Tirecraft's team members were few due to illness and other obstacles.  There was, in fact, only one sub available for the Tirecraft team.

In spite of the small numbers, the team spirit was high and all of Tirecraft's players commanded their bodies beyond fatigue.  While Simcoe was able to give their players a good rest, the Tirecraft players' rests were few and very far between.  Yet they played on – with skill spilling out all over the rink.

Alas, in spite of their excellent play, the rested Simcoe team was simply too much and in the end Tirecraft went home without a goal while Simcoe took home 5.

Sunday, November 28th, brought Burford to Tirecraft's home ice in Ingersoll.  The game was filled with excitement from the first puck drop to the final buzzer.

Tirecraft opened scoring when Bram O'Connor poked the puck into the Burford net with an assist from Paul Shearer and Anthony Ziraldo.  Burford quickly took the point back, however, to make the score 1 to 1 in the second period.  Two more goals – one for each team – would bring the score to a very exciting 2 to 2 tie game when Paul Shearer put the puck home following an assist from Bram O'Connor.  Then, Burford took the go-ahead goal.  As the seconds wound down to the end of the game, Tirecraft tried hard but they couldn't get past the Burford goalie for the tie.

Final score of this excellent game was 2 for Tirecraft and 3 for Burford.  Tirecraft is looking forward to their next meeting with Burford in the hopes of taking the win back.

Tirecraft's next game will be at home ice again, but this time against Tillsonburg, on December 5th at 11 am.  Come out and cheer on the team!
