Tirecraft's Weekend Double Header Against Six Nations
Following an early morning practice on February 26th, Tirecraft travelled to Ohsweken  for a matchup with the Six Nations Atom team.

The game was very exciting, and clean as a whistle with nary a penalty to be seen.  The play was energetic and the goals were the kind you want to write home about, as Tirecraft put the puck into their opponents' net four times!

Bram O'Connor was able to take home a goal for the team, with assistance from Anthony Ziraldo.  On top of that, Donovan Purcell grabbed an unassisted goal, while Camden Mcdougall flipped a puck over the goalie's left shoulder following an assist from Jonathen Landsborough.

Then there was the incredible running of the gauntlet by Kristopher Procter, as he took the puck down the ice, with opponent sticks slashing his own, and their breath on his neck as they tried to stop his rush.  Undaunted, Procter found an open hole between the goalie's pads, and pulled out an amazing goal for the team.

In spite of the incredible effort by Tirecraft, the final score of the game was 6 to 4, with Six Nations taking the win on home ice.  But the weekend wasn't over.

Another matchup between these two teams came on Sunday, February 27th.  This time, Tirecraft played on home ice, and hosted their Six Nations rivals.  The boys of Tirecraft were well-rested for this game, in spite of the partying they'd done the night before to celebrate a team-mate's birthday.

This time, Tirecraft seemed poised to take the victory.  The boys put the puck into the Six Nations net four times – with two goals by Bran O'Connor, who was assisted by  Jonathen Landsborough and Donovan Purcell on both.

Third and fourth goals were scored by Camden Mcdougall – one was unassisted while his second goal was had with assistance from the very busy Jonathen Landsborough.

The last several minutes of the game were a nail biter, as Tirecraft held on amidst a barrage of shots and attempted shots.  Thanks to the excellent goal tending of Brody Carbaugh the Six Nations team would not see a fourth goal, or a tie.

Final score of the game was 4 to 3 for Tirecraft!

Tirecraft's next game is on Tuesday, March 1st in Tillsonburg.  Come on out and support the team.  I'll see you there!
