Ingersoll loses in a see-saw battle
The Searles Motor Products Novice Rep. team hosted Cayuga on Thursday night, in what turned out to be a high scoring, see-saw battle. Ingersoll opened the scoring less than 3 minutes into the game, and added a second tally just one minute later.
But Cayuga did not back down, and tied it right back up at 2-2. Ingersoll regained the lead, and at the end of the first period, the score was 4-3 for the home team. Cayuga came out and exploded in the second period though, scoring 5 goals to Ingersoll's 1. The hometown kids didn't give up though, and kept putting the puck on net, adding 2 more in the third. It wasn't enough though, and when the dust settled, Cayuga had won the game 11-7.
Scoring for Ingersoll were Parker Hodgson with 2, Cole Ellis, Ethan Vlemmix, Daniel Martineau, Nolan Adkins and Ryan Bruschetto with one each. Assists went to Hodgson and Ethan Emerson with 2 each, and Adkins. The team next plays this weekend in the Paris Tournament, with games at 11 am, 2 pm and 7 pm on Saturday. The next league game for the Express team is Thursday, November 11 in Paris at 6 pm.
