OMHA Playoffs begin with mixed results
The Searles Motor Products Ingersoll Express novice rep team began their OMHA playoffs this week with games against 2 of their 4 round robin opponents.  The first game saw Ingersoll travel to Paris to take on the Wolfpack.  Ingersoll got on the board midway through the first, with a great second effort by Ethan Vlemmix.

The teams continued to battle through the rest of the first and through the second, entering the third with the score still 1-0 Ingersoll.  In the first minute though, Parker Hodgson sent one past the Paris keeper, putting Ingersoll in front 2-0.  Paris continued to battle, but were unable to solve either Ingersoll netminder.  Hodgson added his second goal with 3:23 remaining in the third to seal the win for Ingersoll at 3-0.  Assisting on the Ingersoll goals were Nolan Adkins and Cole Ellis.

On Sunday, January 16th, the Searles Motor Products Ingersoll Express hosted the Port Colborne Sailors in another OMHA round robin game.  This game started out promising as well, with Cole Ellis putting one past the Port Colborne netminder, and giving Ingersoll the 1-0 lead.  Port Colborne came right back and evened the score quickly, and then took charge of the game.  Although Ingersoll had their chances, they just couldn't get another past the hot Port Colborne keeper.  Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said about the Ingersoll team, who had a rough morning in the defensive zone.  Port Colborne skated home with the 7-1 victory.

The Express play their next game on Thursday, January 20th, when they host the Glanbrook Rangers at 6:00 pm.
