Express Dominant in SCMHA Playoffs
Since the last update, the Searles Motor Products Novice Rep Ingersoll Express have played a number of games, both OMHA and SCMHA playoffs.

On Saturday, February 12, the team travelled to Port Colborne to take on the Sailors in the opener of a best of 5 series.  The team played excellent, and the game went right down to the wire.  Port Colborne ended up with the win, 4-3 in overtime.  Scoring for Ingersoll were Keegan Purdy, Parker Hodgson and Nolan Adkins.  Assists were tallied by Hodgson (2), Brennan Rupert, Daytn Racicot, Daniel Martineau, and Purdy.

Sunday saw the teams return to Ingersoll for the second game of the home and home weekend.  Again, Ingersoll took it right to the wire, with Port Colborne netting the game winner with just 4.7 seconds left in the game.  Scoring this game were Hodgson (2), Purdy, Ethan Emerson and Cole Ellis.  Assists to Hodgson (2) and Martineau (1).

On Monday, Feb. 14, the Searles Motor Products Novice Rep travelled to Burford for a SCMHA playoff game.  The kids were tired, having played 3 of the previous 4 days, but still put in a great effort.  After battling a hot goalie for Burford for most of the game, Ingersoll was able to open it up with a goal in the last minute of the second period, followed by a flurry in the third.  When the final buzzer sounded, the score was 6-2 for Ingersoll.  Scoring for the Express in this game were Hodgson (3) and Cole Ellis (3), with assists to Hodgson (2), Emerson, Purdy, Rupert, Adkins, Aidan Berto and Ethan Vlemmix.

To finish off the week, the team returned home Thursday night to host Port Dover.  The team had a couple days rest, and it showed in the game.  Hodgson opened the scoring less than 1:30 into the game, on a nifty pass from Daytn Racicot.  Hodgson followed that with a nice end to end rush, putting it past the Dover netminder, and Ethan Vlemmix finished the period off with a nice second effort, putting the Express up 3-0 after one.  After a scoreless second period, the team came out again with a flurry in the third.  Starting with a power play goal by Emerson, the Searles Motor Products team added 3 more in the period, including an empty netter to round out the hat trick by Hodgson.

Scoring for Ingersoll were Hodgson (3), Vlemmix, Emerson and Rupert.  Assists to Hodgson (2), Ryan Bruschetto (2), Racicot, Adkins, Martineau and Purdy.  In a 8 night span, the team went 3 and 2, scoring 31 goals, and allowing only 14.  Way to go guys.  A special note on the play of goaltenders Gabe Robinson and Logan White, giving up only 2 goals total in their last 2 games.  Way to go guys!!

The Searles Motor Products Ingersoll Express Novice Rep team next travels to Port Colborne on Saturday for game 3 of the series.  Game 4 is on Sunday in Ingersoll at 1:00 pm if necessary, and if a game 5 is required, the team will return to Port Colborne on Monday, Family Day at 6:00 pm.  The next SCMHA game for the team is Thursday, Feb. 24 at 6:00 pm when they travel to Paris to take on the Wolfpack.
