Searles Motor Product play Alymer Flames
Searles Motor Products Novice fight hard in 9-4 loss to Aylmer
The Searles Motor Products opened the game strong with a pair of unassisted goals from Riley Ellis and Justin Holmes but in the end could not hold off a strong Aylmer team losing 9-4.
Facing a strong Aylmer team who were coming off a recent Silver Stick victory, the Searles Motor Products opened the scoring at 9:30 of the first on a solo effort from rugged forward Riley Ellis. Justin Holmes extended the scoring at 6:41 of the first as the Searles Motor Products dominated the play in the early stages of the game. Aylmer finally got one past stand out goalie, Jayden Purdy, finishing the first period 2-1 for the Searles Motor Products.
The Searles Motor Products managed to hold Aylmer at bay for the majority of the second period. After Aylmer tied the game 2-2, Justin Holmes scored his second of the game regaining the 2 goal lead for the Searles Motor Products. The third period was a tough one for the Searles Motor Products as Aylmer managed to score 7 goals and open up a game that was otherwise a good battle. Matt Berzins managed to put one past the Aylmer goalie at 7:20 of the third with assists from Justin Holmes and Parker "Wheels" Hodgson. The game got very chippy towards the end and the Searles Motor Product will have lots to prove when Aylmer visits Ingersoll for a rematch on Thursday the 14th.
