November 13 and 14, The Ingersoll Express Searles Motor Products played in the Peter Flanagan Memorial Tournament in Seaforth.
Game #1 - First up was Bayfield, Clinton, Hensal (BCH). BCH started the scoring at 6:08 and 4:34 to take an early 2-0 lead. Tanner Gray scored at 2:44 assisted by Alex Foster to put Ingersoll on the board. At 6:25 of the second period, Tanner scored again unassisted followed by an another unassisted goal scored by Justin Holmes. Finally, Ingersoll took the lead at 10:38 of the third with a goal by Parker Hodgson. BCH regained the lead with 44 seconds remaining. Finishing with a goal into Ingersolls empty net. Ingersoll lost 7-5. Great forchecking by Parker Hodgson.
Saturday morning, Ingersoll was back on the ice for Game #2 to play Goderich. Ingersolls' Matt Berzins scores moments in the first assisted by Justin Holmes at 9:24. Alex Foster scores 3 minutes later assisted by Tori Robles and Ethan Emerson to increase the lead. At the four minute mark, Tori Robles scores one of her own from Daniel Martineau. Goderich finally get on the board in the second. Ingersoll owned the third period with Tanner Gray scoring 2 goals -one from Justin Holmes and Matt Berzins, the other from Alex Foster and Matt Berzins giving Ingersoll an impressive win of 5-2. Extra credit to Clayton Hammond for hard work in the corners and Keegan Clark for steady defence.
Game #3 began at 2:30 against the home team Seaforth. Ingersoll Express jumped out into an early 2-0 lead with two goals scored by Riley Ellis at 1:44 and again at 1:24. Ingersolls' Tanner Gray scores again in the second period assisted by Justin Holmes. Tori Robles added one in the third assisted by Alex Foster give Ingersoll a commanding lead. Seaforth gaining momentum in the early half of the third period tied the game at 4-4. Sensational goaltending by Jayden Purdy to preserve the tie. The tie gave Ingersoll a spot in the B finals where the would face a rematch against Seaforth.
Game #4 of the B Final began at 5:30. Tanner Gray wasted no time scoring Ingersoll first goal at 7:10 assisting on the goal was Daniel Martineau. Seaforth responded quickly at 4:05 of the first tying the game at 1-1. The game turned into a goaltending duo between Jayden Purdy and the Seaforth goalie both keeping their team tied for the Championship. With 2:06 left in the game, Tanner Gray scored the game winner assisted by Riley Ellis. Ingersoll defence shutdown the Seaforth offence to win the "B" Championship.
