Searles Moter Products Novice Rep team win convincingly 4 -1 over Norwich
In what was arguably the best team effort of the year, the Searles Motor Products Novice Rep team dominated Norwich on Thursday night at home winning 4 -1. This was a total team effort with outstanding defensive play lead by Daniel Martineau, Keegan Clark, Alex Foster and Maxx Shelton. Norwich was unable to sustain much offense and timely goal scoring proved to be the difference.
At 7.27 of the first period, Parker Hodgson went top shelf on a real beauty assisted by the crafty Matt Berzins. Parkers goal got the team rolling and at 1:14 of the first Keegan Clark went "end to end" on a Paul Coffee like rush to score an unassisted goal to put the Searles Motor Products team up by 2.
Norwich responded with its only goal at 8:57 of the second on the power play but seconds later at 8:14 of the second Alex Foster scored on a goal mouth scramble assisted by Matt Berzins and Clayton Hammond.
As the rock "Daniel Martineau" kept thwarting all advances from Norwich, Riley Ellis (aka The Flower) scored his second goal in as many games to put the game out of reach assisted by Mr Assist, Matt Berzins.
The Searles Motor Products Novice Rep team are now off to Simcoe to play in a tournament this weekend and if they put the same total team effort together, they should do well!
