Burford 4 Anderson Appliance 6
Monday January 25 2010,

Anderson Appliance played host to Burford on Monday night, and a crowd of about 100 gathered in the Ingersoll Arena to watch the rematch of the two teams. Anderson Appliance was looking to even the season record vs Burford, and looking to continue their hot streak. At 0:52 into the first period, Anderson Appliance showed their  teeth and forward Mark Tucker scored the opening goal, assisted by Nolan Costa. For the next two minutes Anderson Appliance cycled the puck and dominated on their home ice.  The first period was a one sided affair, and Anderson Appliance worked their short bench by using only three defenceman in the rotation. The three blue liners ,Brodi Carbaugh, Donovan Purcell and Camden McDougall, held strong and worked long shifts to keep Burford off of the scoreboard.

Burford snuck in a quick goal to start the second period, and evened the score at one. Joey Schonberger led the Anderson Appliance power line, and along with Annilese Racicot, assisted in a goal scored by Adam Csucs.  Burford proved to be a tough team, scoring thirty seconds later, to once again even the score. Anderson Appliance net minder Leland Loranger stood tall in his net and took care of his team, by stonewalling the offensive push by Burford. Supported by the hard work of their defence and goalie, Anderson Appliance finally pushed out of their own end and defenceman Donovan Purcell pushed the puck up to Joey Schonberger who once again helped Adam Csucs bang one into the back of the Burford net.  The rest of the second period was played at a frenzy of a pace, as the two teams tried a lot of lead passes, and crease banging to gain an edge. Anderson Appliance forward Justin Thorne's smart plays in the neutral zone, kept the Burford team unable to produce any more goals in the second period.

Entering the third period, with a 3 - 2 lead, Anderson Appliance looked a little tired, because they were running a short bench, and working long shifts to keep their team ahead.  Burford pinned Anderson Appliance into their own end, working the visitors in the crowd into a frenzy, by crashing the Anderson Appliance zone, and using some quick plays behind the net. Anderson Appliance's Annilese Racicot and David Timleck dug deep, and charged around their own zone, out working and out playing everyone in sight. Despite a lot of beauty saves by Leland Loranger, Burford did score an equalizer and tied the game at 3. The out of towners in attendance were starting to feel a come from behind win, and cheered as the visiting Burford players continued to push for a go ahead goal. But  Anderson Appliance forward Annilese Racicot would temporarily dash any Burford hopes with another lead changing goal near the half way marker of the third. Adam Csucs and Annilese Racicot stormed the Burford net, and put their team ahead by 1. Burford came back, somehow seeming to be re-energized, and the half crowd of their supporters, rallied them into scoring an unstoppable goal with just over two minutes left in the game. With the game now tied, and Burford pushing strong for a go ahead goal, some of the Anderson Appliance fans, were starting to worry, and amazed at their home teams determination to not let a win slip away. Anderson Appliance forward Mark Tucker charged into the Burford corner, and sent a sharp pass out to Camden McDougall, who took the shot on net, which was turned away by the Burford goalie. Ben Fullerton made no mistake and buried the rebound, earning his first goal of the season, and stealing the momentum of the game with only 25 seconds left. Anderson Appliance continued to push, and Camden McDougall threw a pass to Annilese Racicot, who made sure Adam Csucs scored the game ending goal with 11 seconds  remaining. Anderson Appliance moves another notch up the standings with yet another win, and prepares to go again on Saturday vs Waterford.

The Ingersoll Anderson Appliance Novice LL dedicated their win, and sends their prayers, to teammate Paul Shearer.
