Friday night in Ingersoll was the opening night of the Carmeuse Lime Invitational tournament, and Anderson Appliance took the ice against their recent rival Waterford. It was an exciting crowd in the arena and with music blaring before the start of the game a large crowd waited with anticipation.  The game started in high gear and a lot of back of forth action in first showcased each teams goalie. Brodi Carbaugh held Waterford off the scoreboard and the Delhi goalie also played a great first. There were some technical difficulties with the scoreboard, and Anderson Appliance forward Annilese Racicot got robbed of a break away, when the buzzer sounded in error and ended a play early. Annilese Racicot made a beauty deek and took off from center, and looked as if she was guaranteed a goal as she flew towards the Delhi net, before the glitch ended the play. Later in the period Joseph Schonberger got a bit too over zealous chasing down a Delhi player and ended up in the box for tripping.

The second period started with Delhi nabbing a quick lead at about three minutes in. Anderson Appliance replied 44 seconds later when Ben Fullerton made a great pass to Camden McDougall, who calmly put a laser of a shot into the goal. With their usual defenceman in net, Anderson Appliance cycled some new players through defence, who picked up their pace as the game went along. Donovan Purcell let a long shot rip from just past center, and almost blew it past the Delhi Goalie. Mark Tucker kept the pressure on Delhi and continually blasted shots at the net. In a surprise move, the Anderson Appliance coach pulled his goalie just half way through the second. Both the fans and opponents were caught off guard, and David Timleck took advantage of it to reward his team with a great goal. Adam Csucs and Nolan Costa were given assists on the play, which was a showing of the grit and determination of the team. Paul Shearer came close to netting a goal and his excellent play making almost put his team up by 2. Justin Thorne also played a great game and impressed the crowd with some great plays in the Delhi end.

The third period started with Delhi scoring an equalizer a minute and change in. The flow of the game tightened up as both teams tightened up defensively. Ben Fullerton and Leland Loranger gave their team some great opportunities, but on this night it wasn't meant to be. Anderson Appliance pelted the Delhi net until the final buzzer, but came out with a tie.

Mark Tucker was awarded the  M.V.P. medal after the game, and led his team off the ice, with their heads held high after their strong showing in the Carmeuse Lime tournament.
