Game #9 - Belore shuts the door as the Express shock the Flames
After a tough weekend at Silverstick, the boys finally got back at it as the Express hosted the Ayr Flames at the madhouse. Starting in net tonight was Tanner Belore, who would end up being tested early and often.

The Flames, a Rep B squad, came out flying but this did not intimidate our boys, and as the timed slowly ticked off the clock, you could sense the confidence growing in a team. The period came to a close still 0-0, a victory in itself as the boys held off a very talented team, playing a simple game with maximum effort.

Ayr would score the only goal of the second, as Belore was beat cleanly over his glove side shoulder, but this would be his only blemish of the night. There was fight all night long in the Express as they refused to be intimidated by Ayr on this evening.

The Express would finally break a long goalless drought as Owen Clarke buried a loose puck behind the Ayr netminder to tie the contest at 1-1, with assists going assists being awarded to Reed Skevington and Aaron Lahey. Ayr continued to press hard, but it was the Express who yet again got a break again with a puck that eluded the Flames goalie once again, and Robert Allen in the right place at the right time gave us the lead, as the shocked Flames looked on. Noah Muller and Cam Freeman would get credit for assists. With the Ayr goalie pulled and putting on a full offensive press, the boys bent a bit but there was no denying a victory for the boys, as Freeman would launch a puck down the ice, into the empty cage icing a 3-1 win for the Express. A well deserved win for a team who played with no quit all night long. Belore faced close to 50 shots and was surrounded by a very happy group of young men. Hopefully this success will carryover to Monday, as the Express travel to Burford. Great effort boys and Congratulations on a great team effort.
