Ex Game - Express host St. Thomas to kick off 2023
The U18 Rep C squad kicked off 2023 with an exhibition game vs St. Thomas last night. Our netminders Tanner Belore and Brandon Plaquet would split the duties in an exciting 2-2 draw.
Ingersoll would climb out from a two goal deficit with Aaron Lahey scoring late in the second frame to draw us within one. Ethan Cuthbert would light the lamp midway through the third after a scramble in front of the St.Thomas goal, scoring on the backhand over the sprawled out netminder, with assists awarded to Lahey and Cam Freeman.
What was a very clean game for the most part ended with some rough stuff as St. Thomas tried to notch the equalizer, but it was not meant to be as the Express hung on for a well earned tie tonight. The boys go back to back this weekend with a road game Friday vs Ayr, and then home on Saturday to host the Generals from St. George at 5:15pm.
