Ingersoll Express Novice Rep vs Tillsonburg Tornadoes
Super Bowl Sunday may have been in Miami, but the question in Oxford County on Sunday was, who will win the game between the Express and the Tornadoes?
With Tillsonburg winning the first couple match ups, Ingersoll was looking to build on their win from last week and carry forward the momentum needed to beat the rivals.
The team was excited by being welcomed to the ice by their names and numbers over the loud speaker. The excitement was lost upon puck drop when it was apparent we are flat to start the game.

We spent the first period in our zone, losing battles to the puck, and allowing lots of shots on our trusted goalie.
Charlotte is showing her grit and determination fending off the relentless attack.
After countless saves by Owen and a hard back check by Levon and Charlotte, the puck doesn't stay out of the zone enough to get out of the period unscathed. The first period ends 1-0 Tillsonburg. No shots Ingersoll.
Owen continues his saving ways with 2nd and 3rd effort saves. Diving and sliding post to post getting what he can in front of the puck.
We manage to clear the zone a couple times in the 2nd and muster up 2 shots. An opportunity to clear the zone is spoiled at the blue line and we are down 2-0.
Third period begins and the team is starting to build on their efforts.
Charlotte wins the puck battle and out muscles the forward. The puck finds Kaelan down the ice and he scores a goal over the shoulder. 2-1. We are back in it.
Aadrian displays a power move, he comes hard off the boards turning the puck back down on the defense and releasing a good solid shot on net. Back in our end, Charlotte's good body positioning takes out a forwards chance at the net. Rydan retrieves the puck and sends an Alley-oop over the defender to a streaking Adrian. He takes a shot from the knees. Save. The puck then spends another amount of time in our end. Owen with a collection of saves. Toe save. Arm save. Glove save. Head save. Save. Save. Save. Every part of the body was in on the saves.
We're cutting it close on a comeback. Charlotte's board battle down low allows Josh to hold the blue line. Keeping the puck in deep puts Kaelan in below the goal line. He wraps it around and banks a shot off the goalie and in. We are tied! Emotions are high, we are back in this thing.
Seconds remain when we find ourselves in a hard back check. Aadrian's effort back puts their forward into the boards and a penalty is assessed. Before the play can resume, T-Burgs player shows everyone what not to do when he performs a retaliatory chop over the head of Aadrian. The Mad House on Mutual is sent into a stir and is buzzing with chatter. 12 seconds remain but nothing more transpires. The game ends in a tie.
Oxford County will have to wait for our next meeting February 13th to see who wins the battle.
