Vic Jackson Demeyere Chrysler Memorial Tournament
It's Friday January 17th 2020. We have traveled down to Simcoe Minor Hockeys, Vic Jackson Demeyere Chrysler Memorial Tournament for an early 8:00am start.
It's the Ingersoll Express Novice Tier One Rep Team playing the rival Tillsonburg Tornadoes.
With the half ice schedule behind us, it's the first full ice game of the year. Time to test our skills!

The parents are anxious as they await the puck drop. There is a bunch of new skills, their young players need to learn on the fly. As the game gets underway the skilled Tillsonburg team makes their presence felt. An early puck battle on the side boards gets Ashley Canning on the score sheet with the first official penalty of the season, for tripping.
Our players held their ground and killed it off. With 3:41 left in the first Tillsonburg scores to take the lead. Remy Lamers has our team's first clear chance but comes up short. On the hustle back to the bench the team gets assessed a too many on the ice penalty. Lamers gasping for air, shows his team spirit and takes the 2 minutes for the team. Starting the second period short handed the team shows its resilience. Another speed burst by Remy gives us hope but is turned a side with a nice save by the goalie. With Tillsonburg now up 2-0, Our skilled Captain Kaelan Howard takes matters into his own hands and plots the team's first goal. Owen Pacheco is doing all he can to keep us in the game. Shot after shot he displays his athleticism. It's now 3-1 Tillsonburg to start the 3rd. Josh Romick is playing tight defense, holding the blueline in their end and digging hard in the corners on the defensive end. He manages the puck and clears the zone. With a nice snap he sends Nolan Bartram for a partial break. He gets the shot off with Adriaan Bes at the door step for the rebound. Another save and we are running out of time. Coach Baker pulls the goalie for the extra attacker. We keep the pressure on but lose the battle and they finish it off with an empty netter. Final score 4-1 Tillsonburg.
Owen Pacheco with a stellar effort is awarded player of the game
