BANDITS CAUGHT IN INGERSOLL
Kirk Meek, #12, with the help of Dakota Lednicky, #10, and Tanner Moon, #16, capitalized on the first Carmeuse Lime Ltd powerplay at 5:04 of the first period, making the score 1-1 with the visiting Beverly Bandits, last night at the IDMC.

The Bandits are a fast skating, quick handed hockey team, which kept the Express busy.  The quick pace of the first period carried into the second period, with each team creating many offensive opportunities.  The score remained unchanged until the last four minutes of the second period in which three goals were registered.

At 3:53 of the second period, Beverly would make the score 2-1.  Just over two minutes later the score was 3-1, as Beverly made good in a powerplay opportunity of their own. As the final two minutes of the period counted down, the Carmeuse powerplay would suffer a hiccup when, at 1:26,  a Bandit took possession of the puck and paid a breakaway visit to Carmeuse net-minder Ryan Calder, #33, who was undeterred, denying the Beverly breakaway bid.  Carmeuse wasted no time in taking ownership of the puck, keeping the Beverly net-minder busy.  The diligence was rewarded with only 22.6 seconds remaining, as Noah Haig, #14, assisted by Jeff Couse, #5, and Tyler Goyette, #15, closed the deficit by one.

The final goal of the game would be another credit to the Carmeuse powerplay and was somewhat nostalgic of the first; this time it would be Moon, assisted by Lednicky and Meek. The game would end in a tie but Carmeuse had caught the Bandits after overcoming a two goal deficit.

Game action continues Wednesday, December 27 when Carmeuse Lime Ltd hosts the Woolwich Wildcats, 9:15 PM at the IDMC.
