CARMEUSE LOSES PLAYDOWN BID
Carmeuse Lime Ltd Juvenile Rep was looking to complete another three-game winning streak during Game 5 of the OMHA Playdown Series with the Ayr Flames last night Saturday at the IDMC.

Throughout the first period, Carmeuse Lime Ltd was focused and disciplined. It looked as if the period would end tied at zero; that is until Ryan Archer, #17, assisted by Quinn Campaigne, #7, and Canden Addley, #19, scored the only goal of the period at 1:54.

The second period was just underway as Archer, this time with support from Mitch Graham, #8, and Tyler Goyette, #15, made the score 2-0 at 14:17.   Following this goal Ayr seemed to find their own brand of focus and discipline.  At 13:41, two Ayr players found their way through the Carmeuse ranks to pay a visit to Carmeuse net-minder Ryan Calder, #33, who faced and denied the Ayr duo.  Calder's exciting effort had fans from both centres applauding.  With the faceoff in the Carmeuse end, Ayr would be sure to keep possession of the puck and made the score 2-1 at 13:28.  Carmeuse would not recover their focus and discipline and before the period ended was in a 5-2 deficit to Ayr.

Midway through the third period, and now in a four goal deficit, Carmeuse found the focus and discipline they possessed in the first period, creating opportunities, one of which paid a dividend at 4:02.   With the score now 6-3 Carmeuse would continue to play focused and disciplined hockey, pulling their net-minder to allow for the extra attacker.  Ayr would put the puck in the empty net at 1:59, ending the Carmeuse quest of another three-game winning streak to claim the series.

Carmeuse Lime Ltd will be in Port Dover this Sunday night for a 7:30 faceoff with the Port Dover Pirates for a Beechey Juvenile League Playoff Game.
