Southern County Finals
" I don' count my sit-ups. I only start counting when it starts hurting. That is when I start counting, because then it really counts. That's what makes you a champion." - Muhammad Ali

Southern county finals would be held in Simcoe at the Talbot Arena on March 25th at 11:45am.
The finals would see our Brokerlink Ingersoll Express team vs. the Aylmer Flames.
Having lost out last match against the Flames our boys were out for some redemption. The first period would start off with our Express flying out of the gates. Controlling the puck in the offensive zone with chance after chance turned away from the Flames goaltender. Then at 4:00 #9 Colton Macpherson assisted by #14 Dylan Craib and #15 Jonah Martire giving our Express a 1-0 lead.
With just a seconds left in the period the Express strike again this time #15 Jonah Martire assisted by #11 Westin Matsumoto extending the lead to 2-0.
The second period would be a show down between the two goaltenders turning away shots left and right and locking the gates to the net for the entire second period, end of the second 2-0 Express.
The third would bring out the new nickname for our boys "The Heart Attack Kids" this name would come from the constant strain on the parents and coaches hearts. The Aylmer Flames were not finished yet and finally found away through our Express net minder and were able to beat him and our defence two times in under a minute and even the score at 2-2.
Our Express maybe down with those quick strikes but they were not out yet, battling end to end. At the 7:21 mark on the clock #7 Wyatt Thompson assisted from #6 Isaiah Wallace giving back the lead to our boys.
Our attack and defence would continue to battle right to the end beating multiple rushes from the Flames in the last minute with their extra attacker on the ice, we would fight back and push them out of our end, until the finals seconds ticked off the clock giving our Ingersoll Express Atom Rep team the Southern County A Championship!

Way to go Express!
But this story is to be continued this Wednesday as we meet Listowel for the third game in OMHA Finals.........
