2017/18 International Silver Stick Finals
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. Strap on your seat belts this is one heck of a ride!
Meeting Mooretown in the semifinals of the international silver stick gave us a chance to redeem the first game of the round robin and right the wrong that we had done.
What a battle back and forth, end to end. We went ahead 1-0 and felt a weight lift off our shoulders. Mooretown was not put away though with that one goal and continued to battle back.
They managed to tie the game at 1 with less than two minutes left. The tension increased all through the area with both sides wanting this game bad.Then with 45 seconds left on the clock and a flood of Express players in front of the net we were able to bang one home and took the lead and the momentum back.
The seconds ticked by and I think all the parents in the stands were holding their breath until that buzzer went off and the arena erupted with joy from the Ingersoll fans, players and coaches.
Our hats go off to the Mooretown Flags as they played a heck of a game and made us fight tooth and nail to get that win.
Now off to the finals we go tomorrow at the Forest, ON arena at 11am.
