Novice LL #1 Anderson Appliances vs Paris
On Nov 28th the Ingersoll Express Novice LL Anderson Appliances #1 team hosted the Paris Wolf Pack at home where they were attempting to extend their season high 3 game point streak to 4 games.

With the streak that the Novice LL Anderson Appliances #1 team has been on as of late and the record that the Paris Wolf Pack #2 team has this game was sure to be a good one. The 1st period opened up with lots of hustle and it was Paris that got the first goal, on new net minder Travis. N. Then after a few minutes of play, #5 Drew. P stopped the Paris offensive attack with his defensive skills and went end to end with the puck to tie the game up at 1-1. On the following faceoff, Paris came back streaking through the Ingersoll team to score glove side and take the lead once again at 2-1. Paris kept the shots coming but Travis. N was doing great stopping one sure be goal with the paddle. Paris ended up scoring again in the 1st making the game 3-1 going to the 2nd.

In the 2nd period Ingersoll went back on the offensive and it paid off, just a few minutes in, #6 Brandt. K rifled a shot at the Paris goalie and the puck just trickled past the goal line bringing Ingersoll within 1 and making the score 3-2. Paris though, not wanting to give up any momentum came right back and scored 5 hole retaking a 2 goal lead at 4-2. Only mere seconds later did #4 Mason. D come in for Ingersoll and took a hard wrist shot at a hard angle and picked the opposite corner over the Paris goalies shoulder bringing Ingersoll again within 1 and making the score 4-3. At the end of the 2nd, Paris got the last set of cheers as they closed out the period with a goal making the score 5-3.

In the 3rd, Express goalie Travis. N was standing tall and blocking all kinds of shots trying to do all he could to keep Ingersoll in the game. Paris came hard at the net and after the initial shot the puck was lost in a swarm of kids and ended up in the back of the net making it 6-3. Paris later came back on a breakaway and took a laser of a shot making it 7-3. Ingersoll, never being the team to give up, had many chances to get back in the game and one of them counted with about 1:30 left in the 3rd, #6 Brandt. K came in and scored his 2nd of the night to make the game 7-4.

Unfortunately that’s as close as Ingersoll would get as time ran out taking with it any chance at a comeback. The score of this game does not reflect very well how hard both sides battled, it was a back and forth affair for 2 full period with both sides trading chances, big saves and amazing goals.

Next Ingersoll will take on the Norwich Knighthawks at home on Dec 5th where they hope to tally another one in the W column in the standings.
