Novice LL#1 Anderson Appliances vs Six Nations #2
On Nov 19th, the Novice Local League #1 Anderson Appliances team traveled back to Ohsweken to face the 2nd of the Six Nations Blackhawks teams. The Novice LL#1 team was looking to build on a tie they secured last time they were in Ohsweken and took on the Six Nations Blackhawks #1 team.

The 1st period started out with great plays being traded by both teams in the first few minutes. #18 Graeme. A was tested early and hard and made an amazing glove save between the pipes taking away a sure goal from the Blackhawks. Then at 4:57 the Blackhawks came in on a 2 on 1 breakaway and were able to sneak the puck just past the Express goalie to open the scoring. Not long after the Blackhawks came roaring down the ice to again to make the game 2-0 with just under 3 minutes to play. This brought out a fire from within the Ingersoll team as they fought back and at the 2:36 mark of the 1st, #20 Ryan. W scored to make it a 2-1 game with assists going to #19 Blake. R and #6 Brandt. K. 4 seconds later, #6 Brandt. K went on a mission and scored Ingersoll’s 2nd goal to tie it up at 2-2 with the assist going to #3 Kyle. V. At the end of the 1st period Ingersoll almost took the lead when #16 Travis. N had a spectacular chance on a wrap-around attempt and had the goalie beat, but was robbed by the post.

In the 2nd period the teams were right back at it again, fighting hard back and forth for the puck to gain control over the game. Ingersoll was able to get a few breakaways from #16 Travis. N and #6 Brandt. K but to no avail as the Six Nations Blackhawks goalie was not going to give up anything easy. Throughout the 2nd period, #11 Emma. R made some amazing defensive plays, stopping a few sure breakaways from happening and keeping the puck in the neutral zone. Then with 1:35 left in the 2nd period, Ingersoll took an unfortunate penalty which would open up the game and give the Blackhawks a chance to take back the lead. You couldn’t tell the Express they were supposed to be playing defensively though as #6 Brandt. K took the puck up the ice and with 23 seconds left in the period scored the go ahead goal to make it 3-2 for Ingersoll with assists going to #12 Jaxson. C and #3 Kyle. V.

The 3rd period saw some more great defense being played by both sides, #5 Drew. P was all over the ice stopping the Blackhawks from getting any chances on net. #20 Ryan W was also hustling on the ice and was able to skate back and catch a Blackhawks player on a sure breakaway with a great defensive effort. With 6:14 left to go, #6 Brandt. K sealed the game with an unassisted wraparound goal that not just made the score 4-2 but also gave him a hat trick for the game.

Next up the Novice Local League #1 Anderson Appliances team travels to Tillsonburg on Nov 23rd to take on the Tornadoes and avenge there 11-3 loss from Nov 12th.
