Novice LL#1 Anderson Appliances vs Six Nations
Saturday November 5th marked the Novice LL #1 Anderson Appliances hockey team first trip to Ohsweken to play against a strong Six Nations Blackhawks team. 

Ingersoll came out strong in the first applying pressure early but also playing strong defence when #20 Ryan. W and #5 Drew. P chased down a Six Nations player on a breakaway which ended up with #30 Graeme. A who was in between the pipes, making a big save. There were numerous other chances for Ingersoll in the 1st as they were able to draw 2 consecutive penalties going on a 5-3, unfortunately they could only produce one solid shot on net which came from #4 Mason. D. The period ended on a sour note when with just under 10 seconds to go Six Nations scored on a breakaway making it 1-0.

The second period opened with some strong hockey back and forth between both teams going up and down the ice trading shots on net. Ingersoll had 2 big saves in net from #30 Graeme. A which were soon followed by Ingersoll’s 3rd power play of the game but again they were unable to fabricate any solid offensive opportunities. Six Nations finished up the period by making the score 2-0 with just under 45 seconds to play in the 2nd. Ingersoll had a good chance at getting on the board late in the period when #6 Brandt. K had a breakaway opportunity but was stopped.

The third period was much more prosperous for Ingersoll, but not before Six Nations was able to make the score 3-0 within the 1st minute of play. This 3rd goal must have woken a sleeping giant within Ingersoll as not long after at the 8:47 mark, #6 Brandt. K was found cleaning up the garbage in front of the Six Nations net and tucked in a rebound to make the score 3-1 with the assist going to #4 Mason. D. The next few minutes of the 3rd played out like previous periods with opportunities for both teams, until the 5:42 mark when #5 Drew. P took a shot from outside the blue line and like a guided missile it found its way to the back of the net, making it 3-2, with assists going to #4 Mason. D and #3 Kyle. V. With the Ingersoll crowd on the edge of their seats #6 Brandt. K created a breakaway and scored with 23 seconds remaining to tie it up at 3-3 with the assist going to #20 Ryan. W.

With the tie, the Novice LL #1 Anderson Appliances hockey team snaps a 3 game losing streak and hopefully they can follow it up with a win this weekend in Tillsonburg.
