On
October 22 the Ingersoll Novice LL #1 Anderson Appliances team traveled to
Burford for their second season game to hopefully build on their win against
Langton.
The game got off to a rapid start with #20 Ryan. W ringing a shot off the post which was then followed up in the other end with a big pad save by #6 Brandt. K. Unfortunately the 1st period only saw goals from the Burford team who were able to get 3 lucky ones past Brandt who was otherwise again on fire between the pipes.
The second period was hard fought by Ingersoll who were able to get on the scoreboard with an incredible goal by #18 Graeme. A, who snapped a heater from the goal line assisted by #3 Kyle. V and #7 Jaxson. R. Burford ended up with a power play near the end of the 2nd period and ended up sneaking the puck into the net with only seconds left in the period making the score 1-4.
The 3rd period saw Ingersoll throwing everything on net just shy of the kitchen sink, trying to keep the game close but they were up against a tough Burford goalie who was out there standing on his head and putting on a clinic. Burford ended up netting their 5th goal of the game in 3rd to end up with a final score of 1-5 for Burford.
Ingersoll faces the Simcoe Warriors next on October 24th where they will try to pick up another W.
