Anderson Appliance vs. Tillsonburg Tornadoes #2
Anderson Appliance hosted the Tillsonburg Tornadoes #2 team tonight and the Express Train rolled back onto the winning track with a score of 2-0!  The game seemed to be a quiet affair with both teams playing good defence in their own zones and keeping the offence from getting open shots on the goalies.  #5 Riley Vyse played a stellar game and added another shut out victory for the season.  The Express team did a great job clearing the puck and rebounded well from the troubles of the previous game.  Team work and well positioned play helped set up the goals that lead to the win.

The first period was quiet and only a few quality scoring chances happened for both sides.  Ingersoll played a great defensive game forcing the puck to the boards and keeping the Tornadoes company in front of the net.  #20 Ben Baker was on his game doing a great of job clearing the puck and made a timely poke check to prevent a break away.  Great game Ben, keep it up!  The Anderson Appliance offence came up against a solid defence and spent a lot of time in the offensive corners working hard to control the puck.  The Tillsonburg goalie was also solid and made some great saves to keep the points off the board.  Speaking of goalies, #5 Riley Vyse was tested at the half way mark after a mix up at the red line lead to a Tillsonburg break away.  Riley wasn't fooled on the high shot and made an awesome glove save!  The time flew off the clock the rest of the period and it ended with a 0-0 tie.
The second period was a continuation of the great defence from both teams and solid stops from both goalies.  #10 Kian Brown forced his way down the ice and fired a hard shot just wide of the net.  That was some great effort Kian!  #6 Kylah Demers showed some awesome effort herself, digging the puck out of the corners and chasing down the streaking Tornadoes.  Keep it up Kylah!  All the hard work payed off at 4:57 when #9 Noah picked intercepted a Tillsonburg pass at the red line and split the defence.  He made a nice little toe drag at the top of the crease and ripped the puck into the top corner!  The scoring continued at 1:23 after #15 Logan Pare did his best Bobby Orr impression taking the puck from behind his goalie and weaved his way down the ice and burying the puck in the top corner.  That was fun to watch Logan!  The period ended with a score of 2-0.
The third period was back and forth with both teams needing to do a lot of line changes on the fly with very few whistles to stop the play.  Tillsonburg had a good chance after some quick passes landed the puck in front of the Ingersoll net but #4 Brady Lamers got his stick on the loose puck and steered it to safety.  Ingersoll really worked hard until the final buzzer and held on to the 2-0 win.  Great win team!
