Anderson Appliance vs. Canadian Tire
It was a home town affair on Monday night with another rematch of 2 great teams.  Canadian Tire won the previous game with a tight score of 3-2 and the kids from both teams where ready to play some familiar faces.  The Anderson Appliance crew started the game off with some determination to get the upper hand and take home the win.

From the opening face off, Anderson put the puck deep in the offensive zone and held it there for several minutes.  Canadian Tire did a great job of clearing the puck from in front of the net and Andersons defence did a great job of holding the zone with excellent positional play.  #20 Ben Baker was working hard on the blue line and his efforts didn't go unnoticed.  The forwards where buzzing the net but the Canadian Tire goalie was focused and didn't give up an easy inch of the net.  #5 Riley Vyse was in net for Anderson and looked a little bored for the first 5 minutes as he didn't face a shot and had to do a few laps of net to keep warm.  After a misplay at the Canadian Tire blue line, Riley finally faced his first shot and it was from a clear break away.  He wasn't fooled and made a great save squaring his body to the shooter and taking the shot to the chest.  The game was even for the rest of the period and both teams where held scoreless as the horn sounded.
The second period produced some scoring and it was Andersons to get the first point on the scoreboard.  At 8:09 #10 Kian Brown fired a hard shot on the net that was deflected by the goalie.  Kian followed his shot, grabbed the rebound and found an opening beside the sprawling net minder to put the puck in the net.  Great goal Kian!  Anderson Appliance was really clicking now with some excellent passing between the forwards and moving the puck into the Canadian Tire end of the ice.  With the pressure on, #9 Noah Muller put Anderson up by 2 goals after some sweet stick handling and slid the puck into the net at 7:18.  That was fun to watch Noah!  The play opened up and both teams had chances to score.  #10 Kian Brown nearly had a second goal after a nice clearing pass from #8 Alex Stratton but the Canadian Tire defence man did a great job of lifting Kian's stick before he could get a shot away.  Great effort Kian!  The back and forth play continued and Canadian Tire cut the lead in half at 2:51 on the break away and Riley could only get a piece of the puck.  Anderson's responded a minute later when #14 Dylan Craib used his great hands to drag the puck around the defenders in his way and fire a shot on net.  The goalie made a great sliding save to stop the puck.  Dylan followed his shot and grabbed his rebound to put the puck in the back of the net.  Awesome goal Dylan!  The period ended with a score of 3-1.
The third period starter where the second left off with Anderson's putting the puck deep in the offensive zone.  The defence held the puck onside giving the forwards an opportunity get some shots on the net.  The effort was rewarded with a goal at 9:32 when #15 Logan Pare took a shot through traffic and lit the lamp!  That put the score to 4-1 and Anderson's in the drivers seat. #5 Riley Vyse did his part and stopped the rest of the shots that came his way.  Great game Riley!  The horn sounded to end the game and Anderson going home with the win.  The team played a great game all players should be proud of their efforts.
