Thamesford Pizza/Unifor 3264 Takes Home Opener
Thamesford Pizza/Unifor 3264 Bantam Local League hockey opened the doors to welcome Burford for the season's home opener on Monday, October 6th.

The game found scrambling players on both ends of the ice, as each team attempted to control the puck.

The first period was marked with a major collision – intended – between number 16 from Burford, and Braydon Todd, resulting in Todd winning the puck, while Burford's number 16 was shaken to the ice.  Shortly after this, Burford was given their first penalty, which seemed to set Burford on their heals, allowing Ingersoll to open the scoring as Zack Ackert found the Burford net with help from Tyler Mounsteven and Dylan Gouyette.

Ingersoll's Thamesford Pizza/Unifor 3264 capitalized on Burford's continuing penalty woes, as Ingersoll had a two-man advantage for 40 seconds.  Just as this two man advantage came to an end, Bram O'Connor received some assistance from Anthony Ziraldo, and poked the puck past the Burford goalie for the second goal of the game.  Meanwhile, Connor Craig worked his magic to keep the Burford sharp shooters at bay, with help from Ingersoll's strong defensive line.

Soon, however, Burford did find a way to sneak a puck across Ingersoll's red line to take their first goal.  Ingersoll answered back, however, with a third goal of their own as Camden McDougall received the puck from Ackert and beat Burford's goalie.

The third period found both teams at 3 points each – and it looked to be a tied hockey game.  Braydon Todd would have none of it; and with only 17.4 seconds left in the game, he grabbed the puck during a faulty Burford line change and rushed the goalie to put an unassisted puck into the back of Burford net.

That's how the game would end – with Ingersoll's Thamesford Pizza/Unifor 3264 taking lead as the clock ran down to the final seconds.  Final score was Ingersoll 4, and Burford 3.
