Tremblett’s Open 2015 With Win
The Tremblett’s Your Independent Grocer Atom AE Express opened 2015 with a win over the visiting Petrolia Oilers during the Carmeuse Lime Invitational over the weekend.

The Express were playing their first game in nearly two weeks but it didn’t take long to shake the rust off scoring early in the first.  Emmitt Robinson put one behind the Petrolia goaltender after taking a beautiful centring pass from Jax Nguyen.  Cameron Freeman also assisted on the play.  The score would remain the same heading into the third period when Petrolia evened the score in the first minute.  Tremblett’s then retook the lead shortly thereafter as Robinson took the puck directly off the faceoff won by Nguyen and beat a surprised Petrolia netminder.  Again Petrolia tied the game with five minutes remaining on a nice solo effort.  The game looked as though it would end in a tie but the Oilers took a penalty with just over a minute to go sending the Express to the power play.  Robinson completed the hat trick as he banged in a loose puck at the side of the net again assisted by Nguyen making the final score 3-2 for the Tremblett’s Express.

Prior to the Christmas break the grocery boys completed their regular season schedule in Tobaccotown against the Delhi Rockets.  The boys had a busy December and looked like they were ready for the Christmas break falling behind 1-0 after two periods.  Early in the third, Bryson Green’s strong forechecking and pass to the blueline found Ethan Capern whose shot deflected to Robinson who then deposited it in the back of the net to tie the game.  Tremblett’s had found their legs and continued to press until they took the lead with five minutes to go in the game.  This time it was Green scoring assisted by Robinson.  Nguyen rounded out the scoring with an empty net goal to seal the victory for the Express.

The Tremblett’s boys begin the OMHA Playdowns against Caledonia Thursday and Southern Counties playoffs in the next week.  The long break over Christmas may serve the boys well as they get busy again in January.
